What is Dekita?
Dekita is a personal money app that tracks your accounts, credit cards, subscriptions and who owes whom, in any currency, with live Nepal Rastra Bank rates.
You record cash, bank and wallet balances (such as eSewa and Khalti), card dues, salary, subscriptions and money lent or borrowed between friends and family, and Dekita shows your net position in Nepali rupees.
When can I start using Dekita?
Dekita is in early access. Sign-ups are invite-only until the app launches on Google Play.
Join the waitlist on this site and we will email you when it is your turn. Dekita is coming soon to Android, with iPhone later.
Does Dekita connect to my bank, card or eSewa account?
No. Dekita never asks for bank, card or wallet logins. You add entries yourself with Quick add, which takes a few taps.
For cards, Dekita keeps only a name and the last 4 digits, and it refuses anything that looks like a full card number.
Is Dekita a bank or a wallet? Can it send money?
No. Dekita is a record-keeping app. It does not hold, send, lend or collect money, and it does not give financial advice. It keeps your records tidy so you know where you stand.
Is my data safe, and who can see it?
Only you can see your records. Dekita has no ads, no trackers, and we never sell or share your data.
The app asks for your fingerprint or password every time you open it, connections use HTTPS, and the database itself keeps every account walled off from the others. Your data is stored on our server, and it stays yours: export it anytime and delete it anytime.
Which exchange rate does Dekita use?
Dekita uses the foreign exchange rates published by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), refreshed several times a day. Each entry keeps the rate from its own date, so old entries do not change when rates move.
For a few currencies that NRB does not publish (PHP, IDR, BDT, PKR, LKR, MVR and VND), Dekita shows a cross rate clearly labelled "Reference rate · not NRB". Rates are for reference only.
Can Dekita track who owes me money?
Yes. Add a person and record money you lent or borrowed, in any currency. Record partial payments or increases as they happen, and each person gets a statement with a running balance. Dekita only keeps the record; it does not lend or collect money.
Does Dekita remind me about credit card due dates?
Yes. Set a card's statement day and due day, and Dekita reminds you on the day, or 1, 3 or 7 days before. Reminders arrive at 9:00 AM Nepal time by default.
Dekita can also remind you about money to collect, money to pay, subscription renewals and expected salary.
Can I use Dekita if I earn or send money abroad?
Yes. You can record amounts in about 30 currencies, including USD, AED, INR, QAR, SAR, MYR, EUR and GBP. Dekita converts each one to rupees at that day's NRB rate, so you see one clear total.
Does Dekita show amounts in lakh and crore?
Yes. Rupee amounts use South Asian grouping, so you see Rs 12,34,567 rather than 1,234,567.
Is the app in Nepali?
The app is in English today. This website is available in English and Nepali.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. Settings → Export all saves your accounts, cards, people, subscriptions and history as CSV files that open in Excel or Google Sheets.
You can delete your account from Settings at any time, or email us. See the account deletion page for the steps.
Is Dekita on iPhone?
Not yet. Dekita is coming soon to Android, and an iPhone version will follow later.
Does "Hey Dekita" mean I can talk to it?
"Hey Dekita, do my accounts" is our friendly way of saying Dekita does the tidying for you. The app has no voice assistant: you log entries with Quick add, and Dekita does the sums, the conversions and the reminders.
